I am in Toad River at the present time. It is raining today and
I had to listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit. If I would have disobeyed, I would now be caught in the rain trying to make it up the Rocky Mountains range of Canada. Thirty miles to the Summit.
After leaving Muncho Lake two days ago, I stopped my bike while going down hill and and felt to check for info concerning the distance to the next campgrounds. There were structures on each side of the road. The one on the left appeared vacant, and I heard dogs barking from the left side. I went to the left, and once I entered the property an elderly lady, slightly bent over came towards me. As I came closer to the first small house on the property, an elderly man was sitting looking out the window.
The lady pointed to the house and we walked upon the porch, and the man at the window motioned for me to come in. The room I entered was the kitchen, dinning room, and living room all in one. The place was quaint.
She pointed to the man’s legs, they were swollen with dark areas over them. I knelt down and laid hands on his legs and prayed. After I prayed, the lady began pointing and speaking, but I could only make out the word bear. I begin to pray within, asking the Lord to guide me by the Holy Spirit.
I sat and waited, thinking someone should be coming home soon, like a son or grandson. The elderly lady left and returned back to the area of the property she was working on when I came up, but after about a half hour she returned to the front of the house and saw me sitting on the porch. She gave me such a warm caring smile, turned and went back to her business; what ever that was.
After about an hour, a pickup truck pulling a trailer came onto the property. The man and his family, along with the younger sister of the three elderly persons living on the land. The third lady I didn’t know was on the site.
The sister (Louise) could speak english, and she told me later that her brother and sister only spoke the language Beaver. I did not know that such a language existed. Louise also informed me that Walter was the brothers name and Rose the first one I met and Maggie, deft since birth the sister I didn’t know was there.
Louise told me later that Rose said she had been praying for some one to come, after the bear had come to the house and she had thrown a piece of wood at the bear, and Walter shot at it . She said that Rose was about to give up that her prayers would be answered, then you showed up. Rose said, “I am glad my prayer was answered”. I was glad to hear that, because I remembered how much I talk to the Lord about teaching me to listen and obey His voice.
So much happened that evening and the next day (Sunday) that I stayed over. I could be writing more than I have. Maybe I will have the opportunity to share more later.
