cycling from Vermilion to Lloydminister
Posted by: | CommentsI arrived in Vermilion, Alberta from my last lay-over in Vegreville, Alta.. I Stopped at the welcome center, and was given a welcome and assistance by the two young representatives. One of them pulled up my website on the computer and began to make comments and ask questions. After finding out I was a Pastor, the two of them recommended the Park View Alliance Church. A call was made and I talked with a gentleman and was referred to a young lady that made accommodations at a hotel over the phone. She called back to the welcome center and expressed that the reservations were made and the room was available.
The accommodations were excellent and I sleep comfortably. The Lord is good. After cycling over 50 miles and getting accommodations was the grace and love of GOD extended to me.
I awakened the next morning and met another Pastor from the Pentacostal Church, and he and I had good fellowship. He gave me a compliment, he stated that he had missed out by not calling me back that night. I mentioned there was no condemnation in Christ Jesus and we were together now.
I cycled out the next morning with my objective being to arrive in Lloydminister that evening, another 55 plus miles away. I made it in good time, because the road level and the weather was fair.
I will blog some tomorrow, so until then good evening.
I pray to all who read this blog. May God meet all your needs according to His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus.
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS HERE.
Edmonton, Alberta to Vegreville,Alberta.
Posted by: | CommentsI started my day off with Pastor Peter and I taking my bike to the shop for minor adjustments. I had been cycling with a broken spoke for a few days, which caused me to cycle with only my front brakes attached. While my bike was being repaired I mailed some articles home to Lancaster Calif., which would now make my bags lighter. That is needful, to have as less weight as possible.
On Monday evening I called Brent a truck driver I had met at a rest area out side of Whitecourt, Alberta. Brent came to the Stewart’s home and we drove to a restaurant for dinner and fellowshipped. He is a new believer and is seeking the truth, I felt that my host, Peter and Melody would be good mentors for Brent. After dinner we came back to the Stewart’s home, and now the four of us had good fellowship, and Brent connected with the Stewart’s. God is good.
On Tuesday morning, I said good bye to Melody and was taken to breakfast, and I was again on the Hwy. I am familiar with this part of my adventure, because the Hwy is my home at this time in my life.
From Edmonton to Vegreville was approx.
55 miles and I was hosted by a lovely christian couple. I am thankful to God for the family of God.
Blessings to all. The time is 3:20 am, and I must go back to bed.
Sangudo, Alberta to Edmonton, Alberta
Posted by: | CommentsSaturday August the seventh, two thousand and ten, was the day that I departed the campgrounds in the community of Sangudo, Alberta. I cycled up the hill from the campground to a Chinese restaurant and had breakfast. I asked for steamed rice instead of potatoes. The rice proved to be an excellent choice. The customers became interested in “The Holy Spirit Is Here” cycling trek, and all came outside to see what I was riding on from Fairbanks Alaska to the Florida Keys. A few on lookers simply shook their heads and walked back inside the restaurant.
I cycled to the welcome center and met the lady in charged, she was excited because she thought she had missed me. The evening before we agreed to meet at 10:00 am when she opened the center. Pictures were taken and I wrote a quick news release for her and I was again on my bike cycling out of a community.
I remember the welcome center representative waving as I rode off saying, “Bye Spirit Rider”, I could hear her saying those words for many miles later, as I cycled toward Edmonton.
I called Pastor Peter
Stewart in Edmonton, because he was my contact. I expressed that I would cycle as close to Edmonton that evening as possible and then on Sunday cycle into the city and to his church. I cycled within 18 to 20 miles of the city and called again, and was picked up. I needed the assistance, because of pushing myself to get as close as possible, I didn’t care to cycle in the city traffic after approx. 2000 miles of Hwy.
Resting in a bed after a nice hot bath was heavenly. I slept well and was made to feel at home by Melody and Peter.
Church on Sunday, I enjoy being in town where I can worship and praise the Lord God. I was given time to share my testimony that morning and again that evening. A Philippine congregation has there service in the evening at the church. I was blessed in both services. God is good.
I will blog my Monday activities later. Until then.
A servant of Jesus Christ, Lowell White-Spirit Rider
On Hwy 43 in Alberta, cycling toward Sangudo.
Posted by: | CommentsI woke up this morning in Whitecourt, which is a nice size town. The campsite was in town, the location was advertised throughout the area. I broke camp and packed all my gear onto my bike and cycled to find some cafe to have breakfast. I was finally directed to a Subway restaurant that was open at seven a.m.
After breakfast I had a nice hill to climb to get out of town. Nice way to start the morning, but each day brings it’s own challenges to give one the opportunity to let Christ be seen in you. The question is, will you seek His face to be seen in you; in whatever situation you are facing? The breakfast I ate was fuel for the hills that I would have to climb later that day.
While cycling a gentleman stopped on the Hwy and introduced me to his daughter. He had met me several days earlier in the town of Little Smokey. He had a beautiful daughter, with a beautiful name, Omaro. If I did not spell Omaro correctly I apologize. They did offer me a ride to Edmonton, because I had a broken spoke on my rear tire, and had to disconnect my rear brakes. I let them know I was able to cycle using only my front breaks until Edmonton.
I kept cycling after the two drove off, after 50 miles I was entering Sangudo Alberta looking to find somewhere to camp for the night. Locating a place to stay was supported by Sharon, the information center representative. I chose to camp out and not stay in the recommended motel.
After I set up my tent and got inside, the wind began to blow very hard, then lighting, followed with a hard down pour. The wind was blowing rain into my little tent, because it was not made for such aggressive weather.
The Scripture says “Give thanks in all things for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” So I was thanking God and holding my little tent together, to keep it from blowing away, while wiping away the water.
In approx. 40 minutes it was all over and the sun came out. I could not figure out what had just happened, but I was giving thanks to God. I am so very glad that I have started giving thanks in all things. I desire to be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only.
Good night all. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS HERE. AND JESUS IS LORD.
Blog from Fox Creek, Alberta Canada.
Posted by: | CommentsThe time is 5:30 in Fox Creek, Alberta, I am sitting in the lobby of a Best Western Hotel doing the blog. I cycled from the area of Little Smokey, Alberta, where I camped out last night. I feel I will be camping tonight.
Before Leaving Little Smokey I prayed with a man who shared with me, that he had a pace maker placed in his body within the last two weeks. Before entering Fox Creek, two Canadian children of God and I prayed for each other at a road side rest area. I am Asking the Lord each morning before doing anything else; “What is Your assignment for me today, Lord
? ” Then listening continuously for the leading of the Spirit is priceless.
WHOSE JOB IS IT ?
This is a story of four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it. Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. Author is unknown to me for this piece,” Whose Job Is It” ?
Well I must go and secure a place to camp for the night. That’s my job, and I must do it.
