Ft St John,BC to Dawson Creek, BC
ByMy breakfast this morning was eggs, hash browns, toast and jelly, orange juice, coffee, fresh fruit, and moose sausages. Now that is breakfast for a blessed man. Who? Me, Lowell White. I am sure you can tell I love moose meat. (Smiles from me).
The day was full. I began with the special breakfast, prepared by Judy my sister in Christ. Afterwards, David and I put my bicycle in his truck and drove to the down town area. We visited the bike shop, talked about cycling awareness and interest, and left my bike to be serviced after approx. 1500 miles.
Next, David and I prayed while sitting in the truck before I entered the Alaska Highway News establishment. Spoke with a receptionist, then news reporter, for later appointment. I left the news paper headquarters and walked to City Hall. After speaking with the Mayor’s secretary and receiving an appointment for 1:30 pm, I went across the street to a restaurant and waited.
I had a conversation with two ladies having lunch, about the Lord and Kingdom principals. Soon after a reporter called and said he would meet me at the restaurant.
I was interviewed there, pictures were taken both inside and outside the restaurant. I left the area and walked slowly back to the bike shop, talking to the Lord at times and; then Evelyn, my wife, the bike was serviced. Replaced rear cones, installed new chain and spoke in rear wheel, replaced rear tire, and other adjustments. Cost,$194.60, after paying the bill I was allowed to have my bike. I then cycled back to David and Judy’s home.
Other things happened, such as having dinner with the family that evening, going with David to a home where a bike was being advertised for sale, and talked to my lovely wife a few more times. Well that’s about it. I will depart today at approx. 8:00 am, heading in the direction of Dawson Creek, BC
Blessings to all in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Lowell my brother, you have been having such wonderful blessings in the Lord. It is a joy to read all your experiences! Cary and I spent two blessed weeks with our grandchildren here with our daughter and son in law. The Lord blessed us with $580 worth of hardwood flooring for $100. (including glue!) Charlie and Cary laid it all out and of course, it is just enough. So we were able to share with our family how sometimes God blesses with abundance and sometimes with just enough – both are blessings.
Now moose sausage I have never had – may have to go 2 blocks and see if Charlie Brown’s has any in their freezer! With your report of how wonderful they are, I am now interested! Have a wonderful ride today – our prayers go with you. Grace n Cary
I wish you had a little map on here (hint hint) so we could pinpoint where you are. In my mind I was thinking you would be very close to crossing into the US, but when I looked up Dawson Creek BC, I see you still have some cycling to do! But it’s also fun to see have far you’ve come on the map. I’m loving all the stories of the people you are meeting along the way and how the Lord is putting people in your path who are so open and hospitable. Keep on keeping on. We’re all praying and cheering for you! Love you!
